Aw what a lovely comment! I’m so glad you ladies are enjoying the videos! You’ve probably done the photos now but if not, i would say pretty much anything goes for steampunk! I’d suggest using maroons / berry colours for the lips (matte) and a grey smokey eye. Possibly a little design on the outer corner of one eye as a little feature! P.s: Congratulations on your engagement!! xo

Hi, Stephanie! Your work is gorgeous and I thoroughly enjoy your tutorials! I am trying to become a makeup artist. I watched your video on you going to school for makeup education. I feel the same way you did… I know it’s not necessary, but it’s difficult to find the basic info that a beauty school would teach me. Is there anyway you could do a video on how you clean your brushes between clients? Also, what your travel makeup kit consists of? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for all the great work you do and for sharing your gift with the world!

Hi sweet! Try to make sure you use a nice highlight, something like ‘The Balm’ Mary-Lou Manizer highlight on the high points of the face, and a nice baby pink glossy lip. Also, highlight the brow bone and the inner corners of the eyes to bring light to the face! ๐ xx

Hi Stephanie,
I love your videos so much and I have learned a ton! I never knew about hooded eyes or that I had them until watching your videos. I also always wore shimmery shadows and felt like a clown when I tried to put on makeup. I am now wearing matte shadows, blending and also stippling in my foundation and patting on my powder. I feel so much more confident putting on makeup now thanks to your videos. Keep on doing them, they are great:)
lots of love from Canada!

Hi Stephanie!
I first want to same that i love your you tube videos. They have been so helpful in finding better ways to apply my makeup. I was wondering if you had any suggestions for foundations for me to try. I have very pale pink undertone skin. I have oily skin and have acne scars from high school. The trouble that I am having is that my face will break out with any foundation that I have tried (liquids, powder, etc.). I try to not wear so much makeup just because I know I will break out. Any suggestions that you have would be great.

Hi Megan! Usually your skin will break out from using a new product but after a while your skin will get used to it, and the breakouts will settle down. I recommend Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet, that’s what i use and i really haven’t found anything that matches up to it. If you’re very pale with a pink undertone try the colour ’12 beige rose’. I apply it with a clean sponge. xx

After watching your contouring and every day glam makeup videos, I tried your techniques with the very same makeup that I already wear every day. I don’t think anyone knew what changed, but at work another woman stopped me in the break room to tell me that I “look like a model” and my husband stopped me to say “I have such a hot wife”. Well worth an extra 10 min in the morning- thank you and I hope you’ll continue to post great videos.

Hi Stephanie,
First of all, you’re gorgeous. I love your makeup tutorials! the reason I’m commenting is I noticed that it looks like sometimes your fingers are sore/cracked. I’ve only seen this one other time, on my sister! It took over a year but she finally found out that she is allergic to a preservative that is found in a ton of household products including lotion, soap, baby wipes, etc. Basically anything that starts with ‘meth’. I’m not sure if you already knew what was causing it but I wouldn’t want to see anyone go through what my sister has gone through. I hope I don’t offend you as I’m just trying to help. Can’t wait to watch your next video!

I too am a Canadian fan, but unlike most of your viewers, I’m 64 yrs. old going on 30. I am about to pass on your site to five much younger women in my family. You’d think that after 51yrs. of applying makeup, I’d have a good idea of what to do. But you, young lady, have taught me more in one afternoon than I ever learned. BRAVO!!
I do have a question though: how do you disguise ‘pit scars’ that are so deep that they cast an internal, black shadow. Traditional coverups/makeup makes them look like white, infected pimples as they collect inside the ‘pit’. I have 12 in prominent places (chin, side of nose, cheekbones and apples of cheeks). Please help because they’re permanent.
I am looking forward to future tutorials eagerly. Thank you for your sweet heart and expertise. Be well.

Anyways, my question is…. i am now looking at investing in a brush kit and was wondering which brand you would recommend. Good quality brushes suitable for beginners. Hi Stephanie,
I love your tutorials so much. And it would be great if you can help advise how to avoid cakey, creasing for oily combination skin with acne and scars after 2 or 3 hours. Why am i asking that? Because i did what you taught but my skin looks perfect just only when i finish it in the morning. After 1 hour working with my computer, my skin has oily on T zone. When i use film or thin layer tissue to remove oil, my skin looks like dry skin with alot of dead cells. I do exfloliate my skin 1 to 2 times a week. But it is not better. I wish to send you my photo to understand more. Look forward to your nice feedback.
Thanks,

I really like the way you do your tutorials and your technique is different a bit from other tutorials I’ve seen before… it’s a lot easier to follow. My question isn’t necessarily about brands, but rather what sorts of brushes would you recommend for a “starter kit” whether it’s a diy buy a brush here and there or just an all inclusive kit? What sorts of things should someone look for when purchasing brushes?? Thank you for your blog, videos, and just taking the time to share your tips and knowledge.

My question is, I have lines around my eyes and a darker tone under my eyes as well. Is there a concealer I can put under my eyes that will hide the lines and not crease into them before i put on the foundation?
Also it is pretty cold here at the moment and I wondered if the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation would dry and flake my skin as I apply it?
