Hi guys! So i’m gonna upload my current skincare routine video to my YouTube channel tomorrow – but i thought i’d give you a more in-depth run down of the products i’ve been using lately here as well!
As you guys know, i’ve got EXTREMELY awkward skin. I have rosacea, acne, redness, oiliness, HUGE pores and also sensitive skin. Yay me! I’m lucky that with my career I do get to try lots of different products, from makeup, to hair care, to skincare. A little over a month ago now, i was sent the Cleanance range from the skincare brand Avene, and i’ve been using it consistently since I received it. My skin is still red (I think that’s definitely caused by the rosacea), however my breakouts are almost none existent now! I can honestly say i’ve only had one new pimple on my chin since I started using Avene. The rest of the texture on my skin is caused by my enlarged pores, rosacea bumps and pre-existing pimples that are slowly but surely clearing up and going away.
So wanna know the products i’ve been using? Read on!
The first Avene product I use in my routine is the Cleanance Micellar Water. I use this if I’m wearing makeup to remove the bulk of my makeup before cleansing. I also use it in the morning sometimes to refresh my skin, especially if I don’t have time to properly cleanse my skin with water. I love micellar waters as they clean your skin, but you don’t have to rinse afterwards. Brilliant if you’re in a rush or don’t have a lot of time! I especially like the Avene Cleanance Micellar Water as it has an active ingredient called Monolaurin which helps to reduce excess sebum, so it’s great if you have oily skin like me. This is a new addition to the Avene Cleanance range, and is specifically formulated to help reduce adult acne.
Next I use the Avene Cleanance Gel. I use this at night after the Cleanance Micellar Water. This cleansing gel is for acne prone skin (me!), and it can also be used on the body! This would be great for people who tend to get spots on their chests and backs as well. This one also contains the active ingredient Monolaurin to regulate the over production of sebum. I usually find that cleansers are quite drying on my skin, but this one seems to be ok! If I moisturise afterwards my skin stays nicely hydrated.
Now here’s the real kicker: the Avene TriAcnéal EXPERT. This is another new addition to the Avene Cleanance range, and it’s potent. The TriAcnéal EXPERT cream is the only dermo-cosmetic product that treats all the aspects of adult acne. The 3 active ingredients are:
- Diolényl – This targets the bacteria responsible for acne. Diolényl is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory.
- X-Pressin – This is a natural enzyme coming from papaya extract that has a keratolytic & exfoliating action. 1% of X-Pressin equals to 9% of glycolic acid.
- Retinaldehyde – a Vitamin A precursor that increases the cells turnover and boosts collagen and elastin fibers. It helps reduce pigmentation and scars and also provides anti-ageing benefits.
This little guy is small in size, but big on action. You can use it anywhere that you have a breakout, or on the whole face if needed. I use it as a nighttime treatment after cleansing, and I tend to use it just where I have a breakout, or spots that are healing. The good thing about this treatment, is that it is SO gentle. Unlike other acne fighting treatments i’ve tried, this one doesn’t dry my skin out at all.
For my moisturiser i’ve been using the Cleanance EXPERT cream. It’s lovely and lightweight, and also helps to fight acne during the day. It’s got a matte finish which is great for oily skins like mine, but it still feels super hydrating as well. I wear this in the morning too, even under my makeup and it creates a really nice base. If you like a lightweight, but effective daytime moisturiser, this one’s for you.
Then to finish off my skincare routine I’ve been using the Avene Thermal Spring Water. I don’t use this all the time, just when I feel like I want some extra freshness really. I just spritz it onto my face, and it helps to soothe and calm my skin. It feels amazing, smells even better and is so refreshing. I have actually also been using it over the top of my makeup to help revive my skin and keep it feeling fresh throughout the day too.
So that’s all folks! Pretty simple skincare routine for me currently, but it is effective against acne that’s for sure. If you guys suffer from acne / adults acne or have acne prone skin (acne, acne, acne) then I think you’ll really like this range. Give it a go and let me know what you think! Do any of you guys already use Avene skincare? Do you love it? Let me know! Stay tuned to my YouTube channel tomorrow to see my Avene skincare routine in action!
