Balletto Airbrush Studio – Review

Hi loves!

So i have finally got an Airbrush! Woooooo!!

I mucked about with airbrushing back when i was in Makeup College, but i haven’t touched one since! It was always kind of on my ‘to do’ list, as a lot of clients do inquire as to whether i do airbrushing or not, and as a makeup artist, i want to be able to offer my clients everything. So, i will be doing a blog post on how to  use your Balletto Studio Airbrush, and i’ll have pictures to show how it looks on the skin, and the finish you can get etc, but first! Here is a review of my Balletto Studio Airbrush!

The Balletto Airbrush Studio is an easy to use, fuss free system, that uses gentle air pressure to spray makeup onto your skin. It promises a radiant, even and healthy complexion, without harsh chemicals, or causing damage to the skin.
Price: For the Airbrush kit that i have, it costs $400, BUT! Balletto has given me a discount code for you guys, which means you can get the same airbrush kit that i have, for $70!!!! What! I’ll put the link to my airbrush and the discount code down below for you.
What comes in my kit?:

This table is on the inside of your box. It will help you understand the airbrush makeup!

The Oh, where to start?! Ok, so the fact that you apply your foundation through the airbrush means that you will not be touching your skin at all. No pulling, prodding and buffing means that you will not be causing any micro damage to your skin. You can control how much product comes out, and how much airflow you have at any time. Therefore you build your coverage slowly, in fine layers until you reach your desired coverage! A serious pro is that you can easily mix your perfect custom foundation colour. Pop in a few drops of the liquids that closest match your face, and you’re off! Another pro is the highlighter that the kit comes with! It is the most beautiful highlight ever. You can either apply it to the high points of the face (cheekbones, cupids bow etc) or mix a few drops in with your foundation to achieve a lovely, dewy, radiant glow!
Another massive plus, is that all the makeup you get with your Baletto Airbrush is free from harsh chemicals, heavy metals and other toxins. It’s essentially pigment and water!
It is free from:
  • Paraben Free
  • Silicone Free
  • Oil Free
  • Fragrance Free
  • Alcohol Free
  • Dye Free
  • Cruelty Free
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Non-Comedogenic (will not clog pores)
Ah. Really the only con i can think of is that it’s not ideal for around the eye area. Only for the fact that it sits in those tiny lines around the eyes and makes them appear a bit more obvious. The reason for that is; because your foundation is being sprayed onto the face, and you’re not buffing or working the product into the skin, (and thus working the products into those fine lines, which results in them appearing almost invisible) the product will settle any where it lands. So it lands on top of the fine lines, but doesn’t get worked into them, and in turn it emphasises them. My solution to this little issue is to apply a teeny bit of my regular foundation around my eye area, using a sponge so that i can really work it in to those wee lines. Then i simply avoid airbrushing my eye area!
How to Use:
Ok, now for this part i would really recommend you watch my YouTube tutorial on how to use your Airbrush. It’s a little tricky to explain via text but i’ll give it a go!
– Plug your airbrush into your power socket (duh)
– Put about 8 drops of your chosen foundation into the wee tub
– Turn the power button on 🙂
– Choose your level of airflow (i usually use low)
– Pull the tigger back
– Hold the airbrush about 6 inches from your face, and move in gentle, slow circuler movements over your face.
– Don’t breathe when you go near your nose, and don’t open your eyes if you’re applying it near the eye area!
Yeah, there’s more to it than that, here’s the link to my YouTube demo:
Would I buy it again?
Well I’m hoping the little guy will last me a long time, but if i needed to get another airbrush, i would absolutely get another Balletto! The finish is beautiful on the skin, it’s brilliant for me, because being a makeup artist means i need to mix and match many different foundations to use on my clients, and the little bottles of liquid foundation that i got with my airbrush makes this so easy! It’s also really hygienic. You don’t have to worry about washing brushes or alcohol to spot clean or anything! Simply put a few drops of water into your tub and turn your airbrush on. It will clean itself! So yeah, i’d definitely get it again.

  1. Hi, Stephanie! I love your blog. I tried to buy this kit yesterday following your link and using your code but once and again I receive the same result: “Warning: Coupon is either invalid, expired or reached it’s usage limit!”.
    Isn’t it working anymore?
    Thank you!
